Q: Where do you call home?
JOY: I’d have to say New Zealand because I was born there, although I spent the majority of my childhood in Australia and moved back to N.Z last year.
Q: How long have you been surfing?
JOY: I’ve been surfing for about 2 years now after transitioning from competitive swimming and then open water swimming. I really love it because my swimming background has helped me immensely with paddling and being able to sit out the back in a lineup is very relaxing compared to swimming.
Q: What other hobbies/interests do you enjoy doing?
JOY: I love music! All kinds! I also really enjoy yoga, skating & boxing.

Q: What’s your best vacation spot?
JOY: My favourite vacation spot would have to be the Maldives. The waves there are amazing and the people are so friendly!
Q: What’s your favourite dessert?
JOY: Ice cream and pastel de nata which is an amazing Portuguese Custard Tart that I had nearly every day in Portugal.
Q: What’s your favourite TV show of all time?
JOY: Firefly
Q: What is your biggest/weirdest fear?
JOY: I’m scared of butterflies. I don’t know why, it’s just been that way since I was small.
Q: What public figure/athlete inspires you the most?
JOY: A public figure that inspires me the most is Philip DeFranco he has a youtube news show that is not afraid to voice opinions and reminds me constantly to keep an open mind toward the world we live in.
Q: What would be your ideal breakfast?
JOY: Eggs, Bacon, Tomato & Avo

JOY: My camera, a bikini and my diary
Q: What’s the one country you have always wanted to visit?
JOY: I’ve always wanted to go to Morocco, the waves look amazing and the culture seems pretty unique.

JOY: Whale
Q: Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?
JOY: I never said it would be easy I said it would be worth it.
Q: What is it that you like about Wet Leopard Swimwear?
JOY: I absolutely love that it’s a high quality, fashionable piece to wear! I never get sick of it too because there are so many ways you can make it work. And of course I can surf in it without it falling off 🙂 x
